Washington, D.C. - “We are pleased to see a new chapter in climate activism, with Congress members-elect joining concerned Americans to demand what is urgently needed – a Green New Deal. In January, Congressional leadership must listen to these voices and advance proposals like the Off Fossil Fuels Act, an existing bill that lays out a clear path, guided by the latest science, to move the country completely and aggressively to 100 percent renewable energy by 2035 – with the bulk of that transition mandated in the next decade. We worked closely with environmental justice allies and others in getting the OFF Act introduced more than a year ago. Today it is co-sponsored by 46 House members, and it encapsulates the immediate solution to our climate crisis so desperately needed."
