Irradiating meat forms chemicals suspected to cause cancer and birth defects. Despite this concern, USDA officials have began discussing a plan to combat E.Coli by irradiating beef carcasses.  Food producers need to address the source of the problem - processing that's too fast and unsanitary conditions - not promote an expensive, impractical, and potentially harmful technology.  Tell Agriculture Secretary Schafer that you don't want irradiated meat.
