Protect Against Fish Farming in the Gulf of Mexico

Protect our oceans.

There is currently a plan to allow development of ocean fish farms –– huge cages full of thousand of fish –– in the Gulf of Mexico. This plan could become a blueprint for other coastal areas around the United States.

The current Gulf Council plan for ocean fish farming highlights the importance of economic benefit and minimizes dealing with potentially serious ecological impacts. This plan is bad for human health, the ocean environment, and coastal fishing communities.

But it’s not too late.

Send an email now to Dr. Roy Crabtree of the National Marine Fisheries Service and tell him you want him to take a hard look at the dangers of ocean fish farming.
