When I scan my Inbox each day, I single out emails from Food & Water Watch because they keep me up-to-date on back-room shenanigans that affect relevant issues that are of concern to me... like the food I buy in the grocery store! And when they ask me to do something, I do it.

We took our cooking challenge up a notch by asking for a delicious, sustainable and healthy seafood dinner for four people for under $25, using seafood recommended in our Smart Seafood Guide.

Once again, we were amazed by the results.

Here’s a little taste of what’s inside:

  • Spicy BBQ Tilapia with Herb-Roasted Potatoes and Southern Creamy Cole Slaw
  • Grilled Wild Salmon and Blueberry Salad with Sweet Lemon-Sage Vinaigrette
  • Southwestern Shrimp Meatball Supper Salad
  • Tortilla-Crusted Halibut with Peach and Fennel Relish
  • Steamed Mussels in Garlic White Wine Cream Sauce over Fettuccine

Rocky trying a Frugal Fish recipe

Is your mouth watering yet?

We had a great time trying so many wonderful creations. After cooking, tasting and discussing, we are very excited to present the second edition of our recipe collection, Fish & Tips on a Budget: The Frugal Fish Edition. Included are fourteen of our favorite entries, and we are grateful to all the gifted cooks who shared their time and talent with us.

Here at Food & Water Watch, wer’e passionate about promoting the safest and most sustainable food possible.  To help you choose seafood that‚ most likely to be healthy for you and the environment, we created the Smart Seafood Guide.

Our recommended fish were chosen because:

  • they are most likely to have less contaminants
  • they are fished or farmed more sustainably
  • they are produced domestically

You don’t want to miss out on these delicious dishes, a perfect way to shake up holiday meals.
