Floridians Against Fracking to Deliver Letter to Governor DeSantis

Tallahassee, FL -- As Florida’s fracking ban continues gaining momentum in the Legislature, clean water advocates plan to deliver a letter to Governor DeSantis to thank him for bringing the issue to the forefront of the discussion on clean water legislation. Members of the Floridians Against Fracking coalition will deliver a letter, signed by 50 organizations, to the Governor’s office to thank DeSantis for taking the first step towards banning fracking by signing Executive Order 19-12. The group is asking him to ensure the state bans all forms of fracking including hydraulic fracturing, acid fracking, and matrix acidization.
At the AP Legislative Preview last week, Senate President Bill Galvano and House Speaker Jose Oliva said they will support hearings and votes on ban fracking legislation in their chambers. Speaker Oliva took his support a step further by saying he would vote in support of banning fracking.
