Food & Water Action Stands with the United Auto Workers
Washington, D.C. “Food & Water Action stands in solidarity with United Auto Workers in their strike against General Motors. At a time when GM is making tremendous profits, it is critical that workers receive a fair share. The auto industry is currently very profitable and at the same time is undergoing significant change. At the federal level, we need strong policies that promote labor unions and the right to organize and fair trade that brings manufacturing jobs back to the United States. Working people will be at the heart of a green economy as we move off of fossil fuels and Food & Water Action stands in support of workers being at the center of a fair and just transition to a 100% renewable energy. We support UAW in this current strike.”
Food & Water Action is the political advocacy arm of the research and education organization Food & Water Watch. We mobilize people to build political power to move bold and uncompromised solutions to the most pressing food, water and climate problems of our time.
