Maryland Advocates to Rally for 100% Clean Energy by 2035 Ahead of Committee Hearing

ANNAPOLIS, MD — On Monday March 5th, dozens of Maryland residents and clean energy advocates will rally outside the State House in support of 100% clean energy. The event will precede a hearing in the House Economic Matters committee of the “100% Clean Renewable Energy & Equity Act”, which would require all of Maryland’s electricity to come from clean sources by 2035.
Advocates will also release a new technical and fiscal analysis of the bill, recently completed by Arjun Makhijani, Ph.D. of the Maryland-based Institute for Energy and Environmental Research. The analysis shows how 100% clean energy can be achieved, and what the impacts on employment and ratepayers would be.
