The Senate Must Reject Trump's FERC Appointments, for the Sake of Public Health and Climate Stability
Washington, D.C. - "For decades, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has served as a senseless rubber stamp for the whims of an oil and gas industry that has notoriously prioritized profits over everything, including public safety. Our only respite from FERC's blatant pro-industry, anti-environment agenda has been its recent lack of a quorum, which has rendered it unable to approve any new fossil fuel infrastructure projects under its purview. The longer FERC remains immobilized, the safer we will be, the healthier we will be, and the closer we will be to tackling climate chaos.
"The Senate must reject any and all new FERC nominees made by Trump, for the sake of public health, common sense environmental protection, and climate stability. Without a functioning FERC, we are closer to moving off fossil fuels and on to the clean energy revolution."
