Biden administration must stop reckless LNG expansion
Today, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) voted to approve the massive Calcasieu Pass 2 (CP2) gas export terminal in Louisiana.
In response, Food & Water Watch Policy Director Jim Walsh released the following statement:
“Today’s decision is yet another example of FERC’s persistent failure to consider the climate and public health benefits of massive new fossil fuel projects. This abysmal decision must compel President Biden to stem the deadly tide of increased oil and gas pollution. The temporary pause on LNG export permitting was a good first step; now President Biden must make the pause permanent and do whatever is necessary to clamp down on fossil fuels throughout the country.”
