The White House can – and must – stop new fossil fuel export schemes
Yesterday, a federal judge in Louisiana stayed the Department of Energy’s current pause on reviewing applications for new fracked gas exports.
In response, Food & Water Watch Policy Director Jim Walsh released the following statement:
“This ruling from a Trump-appointed judge does nothing to change the underlying facts around fracked gas exports: President Biden and the Department of Energy have the power to stop additional LNG exports. These mammoth dirty energy projects are wrecking our climate and poisoning communities. Expanding these facilities, or creating new ones, should never be considered in the public interest. The administration has all the power to stop the LNG frenzy, and it must use it.”
