Defeat of a South Jersey pipeline

Amazing news: The South Jersey Gas company's 22-mile pipeline through the Pinelands is no more.

In late February, the company behind the BL England power plant announced that it dropped its plan to re-power the plant with fracked gas. This completely undermines the purpose of the pipeline and invalidates its approval by the Pinelands Commission.

This is a movement victory. Over the past five years, Pinelands residents, community groups and grassroots activists like YOU fought to protect the Pinelands when the Commission failed to. You've made calls, signed petitions, packed meetings, taken action, made your voices heard — and the hard work paid off.

Our movement is strongest when we combine our power — so thank you for coming together to protect New Jersey from the fossil fuel industry. Our work if far from over, but this is a step in the right direction for New Jersey communities.
