Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti stops the rebuild of three gas-powered plants

After years of fighting against the repowering of three gas-fired plants in the Los Angeles area, Food & Water Watch, our allies, and communities across the county won big when Mayor Garcetti announced his commitment to no new gas plants for L.A.

Garcetti called this the beginning of the end of natural gas, which makes our goal to transition the city to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2030 more real than ever.
