We are so excited to announce the upcoming release of Wenonah Hauter’s new book — Frackopoly: The Battle for the Future of Energy and the Environment — on June 7th (less than one month from today). It’s available for pre-order now online and at local bookstores.

Frackopoly exposes the corruption and greed that the oil and gas industry has used to gain power in U.S. politics and how a growing grassroots movement can stand up to ban fracking and keep fossil fuels in the ground.

Communities all over the country are experiencing the devastating impacts of fracking — contaminated drinking water, toxic air and earthquakes — not to mention the impact our continued reliance on fossil fuels is having on our planet. Wenonah traveled the country interviewing leading experts, activists and scholars to uncover the truth about the dangers of fracking and the politicians who are being manipulated by the oil and gas industry to turn a blind eye.

It took more than 100 years of political influence-peddling for oil and gas corporations to take control of our energy system and turn our communities into sacrifice zones. Frackopoly names the handful of corporations, financial institutions and individuals that got us into this mess.

The good news: communities are fighting back in a big way — and it’s nothing short of inspiring.

Together, we are building the movement to ban fracking and standing up to the oil and gas corporations that make up the Frackopoly.

Interested in reading more? Pre-order Frackopoly from a local bookstore today.
