Everyone deserves to trust their food. It should be a basic right, yet the battle is constantly on to force corporatized food systems and oversight agencies to bend toward consumer safety. And in a world with one problem after another in the daily news, it can be tempting to lose track of important, long-term fights like safe food for your family. But we have to keep our attention on this, and we know you’re a serious champion who’s with us when it comes to protecting our food. We share an important goal with you: for you and everyone to have peace of mind with each item placed in your grocery cart.

We’re working everyday to defend your right to safe food

We shouldn’t grow food with chemicals that may cause cancer - it’s that simple. That’s why we put a stop to arsenic in chicken feed - first in Maryland and then nationally. That’s also why we called on the Wonderful company to halt its use of toxic oil wastewater to grow food people love, like Halos mandarin oranges.

It’s also why we aren’t afraid to lead the way in calling for a ban on factory farms. We fight and win in places like Oregon, where we recently got the permit revoked for a mega-polluting mega-dairy.

Whether it’s Trump’s latest pick for the USDA (a former Dow Chemicals employee) or the misleading new GMO labeling system, we’re going to fight for you and for all of us every time we see negligence from the agencies that are meant to protect our food. Someone has to hold officials and corporations accountable — and we’re committed to leading the way, just like we’ve done since we launched in 2006.

Your support makes a difference

We know that fighting for safe food systems is a priority to you, no matter what. The easiest way to support the work of Food & Water Watch is to become a donor. When conscientious people like you sign up to give in any amount, it’s a game-changing move that makes our courageous campaigns to protect food and water possible.
