The Women’s March this Saturday was incredible. I rallied with the Food & Water Watch team in Washington, D.C., while others of our staff joined marches across the country, and I came away feeling hopeful and inspired. With so many millions of people around the world willing to turn out and resist Trump’s dangerous agenda, we showed Trump, Congress, and the world our power. When we come together, we can win.

We can win… but whether we will depends on what we do now. This march was important, but it’s not enough. We’ve already seen what Trump plans for our food, water, and environment. Within the first hours of his administration, references to climate change disappeared from the White House website, and that’s just the beginning. We know we need to keep resisting. On Saturday, I was relieved to hear marchers say, again and again: we need to keep this up. We need to do more.

If you’re ready to keep fighting, here are three things you can do right this minute:

1. Take Action Online

Sending an email to your members of Congress is the fastest and most basic way to voice your opposition. Start right now by asking your senators to vote against Trump’s corporate cabinet.

Want to do more? When you take action, you’ll have the option to join our email list – and you should, because we’ll send you urgent updates and more opportunities to take action in the months to come, whenever Trump and his cabinet get up to new mischief. Take action early and often, because our elected officials need to keep hearing our dissent.

2. Call Your Members of Congress

Making phone calls is the most effective way, short of an in-person visit, to express your opinion to your elected officials. Phone calls have more weight than emails or letters, and while they may seem intimidating, they’re easy to do, and they’re worth the effort.

Try it now: call 877-434-0011 and we’ll connect you to your senator’s office. When a staffer answers, say: “Hi, I’m [your name], a constituent from [city], and I urge my senator to oppose the nomination of Scott Pruitt because he’d cause enormous damage as head of the EPA.”

If you need a little inspiration to help you make the call, watch this powerful speech from Eleanor Bravo at the Women’s March in Albuquerque this weekend:

Want to do more? After you call, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for text updates. When you do, you’ll be the first to know about breaking news, and you’ll get reminders to make calls.

Want to do even more? If you’re on our text list already, ask your friends to make calls. You should also keep calling. Set yourself a reminder to call every day!

3. Donate

Food & Water Watch will be doing everything we can to resist Trump’s agenda. At the same time, we’re working to make positive change happen locally, where we have a strategy to make real progress even while it’s difficult to win federally. But we can’t do it without you. We don’t take any money from corporations or the government. We rely on individuals like you so we’re not beholden to any corporate agenda. Donate to help us resist Trump nationally and win local fights.

Want to do more? A monthly donation is a powerful and easy way to keep up your resistance throughout the year. We’ll be fighting Trump every month, every day. Start a monthly donation, and we’ll know we can count on your support.

You’ve done it!

If you’ve done these three things, you’re off to a great start! But there is always more to do. If you’re already taking action, making calls, and donating, and you wonder what else you could be doing, the answer is: lots! We have offices across the country and a powerful network of local activists who are organizing their communities to make change. Let us know you’re interested in volunteering, and one of our organizers will be in touch to talk about how you can help.
