Join Us for a Resistance Address

Before Trump’s address to Congress, let’s send him a message: we will resist—and win.

This Tuesday, Donald Trump will give an address in front of a joint session of Congress. We can be sure that Trump will be outlining his discriminatory agenda, which has already been filled with policies that are harmful to women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, immigrants, public health, the environment and many other constituencies. To send Trump a powerful message of resistance, a coalition of national advocacy groups, including Food & Water Watch, will be joining together to hold a rally right outside the White House, shortly before he gives his address:

Resistance Address: Tuesday, February 28 at 6 pm at Lafayette Square

The rally, called “A Resistance Address: Defending American Values in a Time of Moral Crisis,” will let Trump and Congress know that his agenda does not reflect or represent the values of most Americans. The rally will feature speakers who will highlight how they’ve resisted Trump’s divisive plans, and will send a powerful message that the state of resistance is stronger than ever—and it’s still growing.

If you can’t be in DC to attend the rally, we want to make sure you have a chance to be part of the action. You can watch a livestream of the Resistance Address above or watch it on our Facebook page. You can also follow the #ResistanceAddress on Twitter to get live updates and photos. (You won’t need to have Twitter to follow along.)

The fight won’t end after the rally, though. We’ll need your help to build this movement to stop Trump’s agenda. Here are three quick ways to take action and get started right now:

  1. Ask your friends to contact their members of Congress. Even though Trump’s policy agenda is filled with threats to our food, water and environment, he needs Congress to do it.
  2. Text RESIST to 69866. You can join our mobile action group to stand up to attacks against our right to safe food and clean drinking water. We’ll text you with urgent actions.
  3. Donate monthly to Food & Water Watch. We’re working every day across the country to stop Trump’s attacks on our food, water and environment.
