We’re Suing Jared Kushner. Here’s Why.

We’re suing the Trump administration — specifically Jared Kushner's Office of American Innovation — for failing to disclose critical information about their involvement in the making of Trump’s infrastructure plan.
The Office of American Innovation
In general, there has been so little transparency in the Trump administration and his infrastructure plan is no exception. He created the secretive Office of American Innovation to work on an infrastructure plan, among other things.
This agency, headed by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner (no conflict of interest there...), failed to respond to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request we submitted. We think the public should know what this department is doing, especially since it could have a dangerous impact on the drinking water of millions of Americans.
An Infrastructure Plan Shrouded in Secrecy & Shady Deals
Trump recently released his infrastructure plan — and it’s designed to rip off the American people.
-
It incentivizes, encourages and relies on privatization, setting up to make record profits for Wall Street, while we pay the costs.
- It provides NO money dedicated to communities that need it the most, like Flint, Michigan or Martin County, Kentucky, but instead prioritizes wealthier communities.
- And it does all of this while ignoring climate change — fast-tracking oil and gas pipelines, even allowing the Trump administration to unilaterally approve pipelines in our National Parks.
We're Fighting Trump on All Fronts
We’re already engaged in another lawsuit against Trump over his illegal “Infrastructure Council” — it was being run by real estate developers who stood to profit significantly off the deals they were crafting (again, with that conflict of interest).
Trump has time and again shown that he’s going to pursue the interests of his friends and family at the expense of everyone else. We can’t allow him to continue to work behind closed doors, with no accountability or transparency, and sell off our right to clean water to his corporate friends.
We can’t allow him to continue to work behind closed doors, with no accountability or transparency, and sell off our right to clean water to his corporate friends.
We will continue to pursue legal action against Trump, his administration and the Office of American Innovation to stall and stop them from putting your water in danger — but you know that legal action is expensive, and we can’t do this without you.
We will never stop defending your right to food, water and a transparent democracy. If you can help us out by chipping in or spreading the word, it would be much appreciated!
